So you have decided that you are tired of living in a society that simply takes from its environment without thinking of ever giving back. Well, you should be commended because that kind of thought comes with sacrifices. Some big, some small, and some are just unexpected. One of the unexpected sacrifices is your wardrobe. You want to be stylish but it’s hard when you are using recycled clothing. Never fear, because you can look hot no matter what you wear. Here’s how:

Accessorize

Yes, this is the fast track to looking good no matter what. Just a few things accented will help you go from geek to chic in no time. You can start by finding different hats and different colors that will make your outfit pop. Now, you will have to get a little creative with things like shoelaces and belts, but these things are just a part of making your outfit the hottest it can be.

Colors

Just like with Halloween costumes, you can be assured that your ability to go bold with your colors will help you stand out in a crowd. It’s not just what you wear but more importantly it’s how you wear it, so make sure you are thinking vintage. There is nothing that draws more attention than vintage clothing worn right. Mixing it with some modern day clothes in a brightly colored ensemble will be what you need to make a bold and stylish fashion statement about your commitment to the environment.

The world is changing. The standards of the past, the once accepted rules, are being redefined — proven inadequate for an environmentally conscious public and their demands for safety. The reliance on carbon drenched products is being slowly (but steadily) replaced. The denial of future troubles is disappearing. Instead individuals are becoming aware of how they effect ecology and wish to lessen their burden through smart choices and careful planning. And this extends even to clothing and currency. If you were interested in forex currency trading online, bamboo is profitable form of currency to invest in.

Consumers have suddenly realized the dangers of using materials that can’t be sustained, soaking them instead in synthetic dyes and non-recycled buttons. The effect (though never before considered) can be devastating. And alternatives are now being presented to offer clothing longer lifespans and fewer worries.

Bamboo is one such alternative.

Though too often confused as a simple plant, bamboo has proven itself to be among the most versatile materials known to man. Its resiliency, strength and ease brand it ideal for a variety of uses: from food to flooring to even clothing. Products shaped from this are known to retain their shape, be resistant to wrinkles, breathe well even in stifling heat and — most importantly — be renewable.

Simply explained: a renewable resource is one that can be constantly resupplied. It appears naturally and can be found in infinite abundance. Bamboo is among the fastest growing plants in the world. It can survive in most climates, able to sustain itself with scarce amounts of water or sun. It’s perfect therefore as an outlet for style.

Outfits created from bamboo offer sustainability (they will not lose their designs, even through persistent washings). They will not need to be constantly replaced and therefore offer each consumer longevity. This allows them to aid the environment, requiring fewer warehouse productions and lessening the strain of other resources.

Bamboo simply works.

It’s the eco-friendly choice for a fashion conscious world. And the impending years will prove it to be an undeniable wisdom.

Eco-friendly is the theme everywhere, even in the fashion world. If you are like many people, you are looking for a way to stay stylish while also choosing clothing that fits your needs of being environmentally conscious. Can you have both? Chances are good you will find a way to mesh the two.

Tips for Fashion Sense

Finding ways to dress up your look without breaking any eco-friendly rules can be a challenge. With a few tips, though, you can transform your wardrobe easier than you think.

Consider using clothing made of soy. This is one of the most sustainable of all fibers available, and some designers are enjoying using it in their clothing lines. There are no petrochemicals involved in these clothing options.

Some designers are going high-end using bamboo. This type of clothing has no chemicals and does no damage to the environment during the production process. It is a nice, breathable fabric, too.

You do not have to give up on your cotton, either. However, do choose organic. Organic cotton is comfortable and enjoyable to wear, but it is also a great choice because it is sustainable and biodegradable. Some fashion designers are using more of it in their clothing lines, especially undergarments and tees.

Know that you can find all sorts of unique options for any occasion. You can find costumes that fit your style and even recycled dresses that reduce your impact on the environment.

As you consider these and other fashion trends, know that you can feel good about the way you look. Finding fun, trendy styles can be a lot of fun, too.

Eco-friendly clothing is the new-age fashion fad. Many designer houses have jumped onto the idea, and are making a splash at fashion shows showcasing their creations.

What is eco-friendly clothing? Eco-friendly clothing is clothing made from eco-friendly materials. Materials that are not harmful to the environment are eco-friendly. During creation of certain materials used for making clothes, carbon is released into the atmosphere. Such materials are non eco-friendly. But materials that do not produce carbon into the atmosphere, while producing it are eco-friendly.

Some examples of non eco-friendly materials used to make clothes are wool and cotton. Though both materials are used extensively in the textile industry, they indirectly produce harmful effects to the atmosphere. That is because the way they are manufactured.

Cotton needs water and fertilizer to produce it. In manufacture of certain types of cotton, even insecticides are inducted. Insecticides are harmful to the environment.
Many brands have become synonymous with eco-friendly clothing. Levi Strauss, for example uses natural indigo dye – which is eco-friendly. This was not the case before, when Levi Strauss was using synthetic dyes, that were harmful to the environment.
Which means the answer is clear. Eco-friendly clothing is manufacture of clothes using materials which were not made with the involvement of release of pesticides, carbon, or other harmful quantities into the environment.

So which are some eco-friendly materials? Bamboo and hemp are popular eco-friendly materials to manufacture clothes. Now you may be wondering how you can wear a bamboo outfit. Now that’s the beauty of it all. Fine layers of bamboo are used to create clothes. Likewise with hemp.

A lot of people have gotten so into the idea of consumerism, they think they can only keep something for a very short time before they have to throw it away. While this is okay in some instances, clothing isn’t like paper towels. You can keep your clothing for years if you take proper care of them. Of course, for some people this is easier said than done.

If you use a high quality brand like Apple Bottom clothes, you can keep them for a long time with only a little bit of mixing and matching as individual articles begin to wear out. With other brands, your clothes might not last as long, but as the old saying goes, nothing lasts forever. While you can always extend the wearing time of your clothing by avoiding using a dryer and not getting into fights, a major part of keeping your clothes for a long time is still going to come from choosing brands that are naturally tougher than the average. Cheap clothes just don’t last as long.

However, the life cycle of an article of clothing can also be extended through more than just drying it on a line and avoiding the rough parts of town. You can iron them and hang them properly when they aren’t in use, because the mild stretch of gravity actually helps a great deal with keeping clothes in good shape. While folding your clothes is good to do when you go on a long trip, you can do even better when you hang them properly and keep them properly creased. Proper care of the clothing matters.

Eco-friendly clothing can come in many different styles and types, but in general, the benefits that are associated with buying these types of clothing are always going to be quite the same. The key is that you are benefiting the environment by buying clothing and shoes that do not harm it. And many of these clothing companies are socially responsible and are doing good things across the globe. Here are some of the benefits associated with buying eco-friendly clothing.

The Benefits of Eco-Friendly Clothing

Eco-friendly clothing companies are socially responsible, and doing good things worldwide. For example, Tom’s Shoes donates a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair that the company sells. Companies that sell eco-friendly clothing and accessories are doing good things, and you can do good things by helping them.

Eco-friendly clothing is typically made out of materials that are comfortable. There is no other difference between eco-friendly clothing and clothing that is not eco-friendly, except that you know you are doing a good thing when you’re wearing them.

Doing something socially responsible, helping the environment and contributing to companies that clearly care about the environment are some of the best benefits of buying and wearing eco-friendly clothing brands. If you are passionate about the environment and want to be able to contribute positively to it in some manner, then buying eco friendly clothing is definitely a smart option that is well worth considering. Many companies are now producing eco-friendly clothing, including many of the brand names that you are already wearing.

Fashion today is largely dictated by the whims of large companies just trying to push a new product line. Thankfully for eco-friendly clothing fans, the vintage look is now in, and hopefully it is here to stay. Here are some tips and tricks for how to make a cute vintage outfit made from recycled materials.

Start at your local thrift store or consignment store. Although shopping at thrift stores can be difficult, because there is such a large volume of unwanted clothing, the experience can be worth it if you have enough time to hunt. Check the jewelry section – at first glance it may look like a glass case full of Grandma’s ugliest brooches, but linger here, and see if you can’t find a gem among the dross. Sometimes you might find a piece of unusual jewelry, or perhaps something that could be fashioned into a wearable piece of art.

Next, comb the scarves and hats section. Vintage handkerchiefs can be a great way to dress up an outfit and add a little flair. A floral or similar pattern could be worn as a headband, or worn around the neck to complement a dress or sweater. Also, look for a large width or thin belt – outlandish is okay when it comes to accessories, because these can spice up an otherwise bland outfit.

One of the most helpful aspects of vintage fashion and the recycled fashion look is that your outfit does not have to match. To repeat: your outfit does NOT have to match. Instead of worrying about finding the perfect shade of purple shoes to go with your purple cardigan, think in terms of color schemes. Purple shoes might look fine with a light blue or gray cardigan. Try stripes over flannel, or paisley with floral. It’s important that your outfit has an overall theme, but not as important that ever item matches in the traditional sense. Check online or at fashion magazines for ideas of color schemes and mismatching outfits, then go and create your own.

It’s the most surreal of images — clothing woven from tangles of moss and leaves, accessories carved from discarded branches. The eco-friendly ideal has swept across all facets of the world, including fashion; and the concept has left many individuals confused. Environmentalism is thought to be a collection of hemp fibers and clumsily cobbled styles (good sense has never been known for its design). Too many believe it to be unworthy of their time, their dollars and their artistic sensibilities.

The truth is quite different, however.

Eco-friendly clothing is not — despite what many assume — a disregard of fashion. It’s instead a compromise between the looks individuals want and the protection the environment needs. This allows it to succeed.

Defined simply, this form of style provides two distinct philosophies — recycled materials and organic choices. Both names offer easy explanations:

Recycled Materials: Fabric that has been passed between individuals, swapped from closet to closet is considered eco-friendly. This spares pieces from simply being tossed into the trash and forgotten. They are instead used again and again.

Organic Choices: Wares that have been shaped from biodegradable materials and natural fibers (such as cotton or linen) are deemed eco-friendly. These also boast inks that cause no harm to the soil or water.

These classifications don’t force fashion to be abandoned, however. They instead merely define it to practicality. Color, pattern and texture survive (and flourish). They’re simply without the aftermath of lingering fabrics and dangerous dyes. And this makes them essential for the Earth and the future.

Protection has never looked so good — or been so easy to achieve.

In a day when most folks are just trying to keep their heads above water, others seem to be moving forward in their cruise boat without a hitch. They are classy dressers, and somehow keep the latest styles going. How do they do it? How do they look classy without the added money to do it?

Creativity. A creative mind can make a “mountain out of a molehill” and can keep others guessing as to how they do it. Here’s what they do:

Money savers wait for what they want. They use prepaid cards rather than cash or their regular credit card. They put money into their Reach Prepaid Visa Card, and keep putting money in it. When they go out shopping they use only what is on their card for purchases.

Money savers restore their old “unworn” clothes. Instead of throwing them out when they get bored of wearing them, they add embellishments to them; they find ways to wear them with the new clothing they have purchased.

Money savers aren’t bothered by searching for their clothing at thrift stores or garage sales. They realize that the best deals are often someone else’s cast offs. They are frugal as they look, and never buy anything that looks “worn” by someone else.

Money savers watch the sales. They aren’t embarrassed at getting a good deal, and are able to shelve the money they save on something else.

Cheap clothes don’t have to look cheap; rather they come from a creative mind, someone who isn’t afraid to search (maybe a little longer) for that terrific deal to make them look like a million bucks.

Before throwing away used items in the garbage see what you can save for your children to use to make craft projects. This can cut down on the amount of items that you throw out and bring hours of fun for your kids.

Coffee Can Bank

Give your child a used coffee can once you have clean it out. Your child can glue construction paper around it. Give your son or daughter crayons, markers and glitter to decorate the can. When your child is finished, put the lid back on the can and cut a slit in the top. You child now has a great new bank to put his or her allowance money in to save for a special treat.

Coat Hanger Fun

If you have a plastic coat hanger that has been better days, allow your child to weave or bedazzle the coat hanger. One option is to give your child some yarn and let them weave a braid around the hanger. Use fun and bright colors. Another option is to help your child hot glue fake rhinestones and gems onto the hanger. Your kid will be excited to show their “designer’ hanger off to their friends next time they have someone over for a play date.

Make Your Own Bowling Game

This project serves as both a craft and a game that can be used over and over again. Collect a set of used plastic bottles. When you have enough, set your child up with a smock and paint and allow he or she to decorate the bottles. Once the paint has dried, you and your child can set up the bottles in the formation of bowling pins and have a fun afternoon of indoor bowling.

Do your children have stained t-shirts or ripped pant that you were about to throw out? Stay away from the trash can. There are many ways you can save soiled or torn clothes.

Tie Dye

If your kids have a shirt with a stain that just won’t budget, allow them to turn the t-shirt into a tie dye shirt as a project. Tie dye works best on light colored shirts. The tie dye design should hide the stain nicely. Make sure that your child wears a smock while creating their tie dye project as it can be messy. You do not want to ruin yet another piece of clothing in the process.

Jeans

If you child has ripped or ruined the bottom of their jeans, you can cut them into a pair of Capri pants or shorts. Cut the shorts to your desired length and then sew a cuff in place. You can also take this opportunity to add on fun extras such as lace or rhinestones.

Shrinking

If your child has an outfit that you accidentally shrunk in the washing machine don’t just throw it away. First, see if it now fits one of your younger children. If you do not have another child of the same gender, you can even see if your child can use it to dress up a doll or a stuffed animal. If neither of those options work you can always give the clothes to a friend or neighbor with a smaller sized child.

Due to the economy and an increased awareness of eco responsibility, more people are looking for ways to make items last longer. Using a few simple steps and taking a few extra minutes can help you to get the most out of what you already have.

Milk and Eggs

Keep your milk and eggs towards the back of the refrigerator and they can last several days past the expiration date on the carton. Even though refrigerators seemed to be designed to keep these items towards the front, the back of the fridge is much colder and will keep these items a lot fresher.

Jeans

Don’t wash your jeans after just one use. Jeans are very durable and will not smell after only one wear. You can wear jeans for up to two weeks before washing them as long as you don’t get a stain on them. The less you wash them the more durable they will be and they will keep their color longer and rip less.

Stretch it a Little

Stretch what you have a little longer. Add a little water to shampoo or soap that is getting low. When you have ketchup or mayo in a squeeze bottle that seems like it is about to run out, start storing the item upside down and you can get a lot more product out of the container. Don’t throw away left overs. Combine left overs from a few meals to create a new meal. You can make soups, stews, casseroles and sandwiches out of food that you may have previously thrown out. Also, send your kids to school with left overs for lunch.

What if you could be fashionable and help the environment at the same time? You actually can if you buy accessories made from recycled materials.

Candy Wrapper Handbags

These hot items are most often made from gum wrappers, but you will see them made out of gum wrappers as well. The bags are very popular amount teen girls and celebrities. Candy wrapper handbags are normally hand made. You can get one at any eco friendly store or even try to make your own. If you get a hang of learning how to weave candy wrappers, you can even use this tactic to make cool friendship bracelets for your group of friends.

Used Maps

Another trendy recyclable is used maps: park maps, subway maps, theme park maps. Most people just throw these items away, but crafty eco fashionistas have been making them into clutches and key chains.

Jewelry

You can make your own jewelry buy using soda can tabs. Collect a whole bunch of tabs and then weave them together using the thread color of your choice. Your friends will be wondering where you purchased your hot new bracelet.

Recycled Glass

More and more eco friendly designers are selling accessories made out of recycled glass. Glass comes in so many beautiful colors that it is a perfect medium for designers to work with. Designers have a special way of smoothing out the glass, so this is probably something that you want to purchase from a professional shop and not a project that you should try on your own. You can purchase beautiful earrings, rings and necklaces.

If you are sick of your tired old wardrobe, but don’t have the money to go out and buy new clothes, you can utilize what is in your current closet to create fresh, new looks.

Denim

If you have jeans that are on the older side and ripped denim is back in style again, you can cut or shred your jeans to make this style for yourself. Your friends will not know the difference between your recreated pants and a brand new pair.

Mix and Match

Put pieces together that may have not belonged together in the past. If you have a full suit, take the jacket only and pair it with a chic top and trendy jeans. Add a thick belt that came with a dress to a blouse. You can also wear a dress with leggings under it to give it a new look.

Layer

Reuse that plain white top by layering two or three shirts. You can also spice up the outfit with multiple necklaces or bracelets. Don’t be afraid to try new things, you never know when you may start a new trend.

Use Items Differently

Have you ever thought of putting leg warmers on your arms? What about using a big necklace as a belt? Celebrities do things like this all the time and you can too.

Embellish

Use rhinestones to enhance a plain dress, top or jeans. You can border the sleeves or neckline or even create a pattern. You can also use beads, buttons and other items of your choice.

When it comes to making a business or dwelling eco-friendly, Mesa property management specialists know some good tricks. Not only can you make changes that benefit the environment, but the changes can benefit you personally, too. You’ll find increased performance in your tools and reduced costs in many of your bills.

Appliances

One of the smartest moves you can make in creating an eco-friendly house in Mesa is replacing your appliances. While this might seem like an expensive step to take, you will find that it actually saves you costs in the long run. Look for appliances that are labeled as environmentally friendly and have an energy efficiency rating (EER). These tend to use less water and electricity. You can help the environment and your pocketbook even further by running appliances that generate heat in the evening when temperatures are cooler. This keeps your air conditioning costs down in the summer and helps with heat in the winter.

Lighting

Use compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) light bulbs instead of your energy-hogging bulbs. These use up to three-quarters less electricity than an incandescent light bulb. Many property managers keep energy in mind when landscaping, using trees to provide shade near windows where heat is intense and light where heat is less intense.

Insulation

Go through your home or business and make sure everything is well insulated for optimal energy efficiency. You might want to add weather stripping to your windows and doors. This keeps the cold air (or hot air depending on the season) out so your energy bill doesn’t go up. You can use padded strip sets or vinyl bulbs as weather stripping devices. Or, you can use thin brass or bronze strips nailed to the inside of a door jamb.

Follow advice from the experts, like Mesa property management, when turning your house or office into an eco-friendly environment. You can rest easily knowing you are helping the environment.

Buying eco-friendly clothing from clothing re-sellers is an easy way to be fashionable while still supporting an environmentally-friendly lifestyle, but what happens when you need to purchase quality outdoors clothing for your next camping, hiking, or outdoors adventure? When you need quality clothing goods, it can be harder to rely on recycled clothing stores. So use these tips to hunt down a clothing manufacturer that keeps to fair trade and sustainable practices.

New fashion with truly sustainable clothing is not easy to find. After all, no matter how earth-conscientious a clothing retailer is, it is still difficult to find, produce, and market a product or line of products that are completely sustainable (unless perhaps you are willing to wear loincloth). Consider the incredible amount of resources that went into putting your favorite pair of jeans together and put them on the shelf where you could buy them. Although you will be hard-pressed to make a purchase that eliminates the resources that are drained from the environment and economy to bring you those jeans, you can at least make purchase that will lessen that resource drain.

If you have to make a purchase of brand new clothing from a quality outdoors clothing retailer, know what you are buying. Generally, certain fibers and fabrics are more eco-friendly than others, such as recycled polyester, wool, and cotton rather than nylon. If you want to get even more serious about eco-friendly clothing, you can use completely recycled materials or sustainable materials like soy, hemp, or bamboo.

There are some outdoor clothing retailers that are manufacturing eco-friendly clothing on the cutting edge of technology as well as a dedication to environmentally-sound resources, labor, manufacturing, and marketing practices. Instead of buying a new quick-dry running shirt made of nylon and other materials, you can now purchase outdoor apparel made from coconut shells or wood pulp. Shop for recycled cotton long johns or recycled polyester outer shell jackets that are not only going to perform well, but are helping to decrease the negative impacts of clothing resource surplus and exploitation.

The good news about the environmental debate is that environmentally-friendly and sustainable living has become wildly popular among the fashionable trend-setters in first world countries. Soccer moms love to carry their grocery tote-bags into the store. Young students enjoy wearing shoes made from recycled material and by fair-trade standards, such as the Tom’s Shoes brand. Many people shop at organic health food stores like Whole Foods. Sustainable, eco-conscious living is the hip thing. And eco-friendly clothing is another way that eco-friendly hipsters are expressing their concern about the environment.

There are several ways to wear eco-friendly clothing. One is to shop at consignment stores, thrift stores, or other stores where you can buy used clothing. Consignment stores and thrift stores are just as popular as ever with fashion-conscious hipsters. Consignment stores such as Buffalo Exchange have opened a chain that accepts used clothing at discounted prices, and then resells the clothes at a slightly higher price. It’s possible to exchange clothing, or to buy clothing at the discounted price. The chain is very selective about the type and quality of clothing that it accepts for re-sell, as it caters to a picky group of fashion fiends who do not want to waste time searching through stacks of old bathrobes. Consignments stores and clothing resellers are often more fashion-conscious than thrift stores, since they are more selective, and cater to a specific fashion audience.

Another great option for buying recycled clothing is via online shopping in auction sites like Ebay, where individual owners will re-sell their unwanted new or used clothing at discounted prices. These sites allow unwanted clothing to end up with the owners who specifically want them, taking the principle of a thrift store or consignment store and expanding it across the country or even across the world. It is possible for a woman in the MidWest to order a pair of jeans from a woman in Singapore, and to have the jeans mailed to her house within a few days. All of these methods make recycled fashion more readily available and easier to find than ever before.

For the eco-friendly clothing fan, one of the best investments you can make for your recycled materials wardrobe – and for your budget – is a quality sewing machine. Sewing can be time consuming and technically challenging, but if you have time to spare, want to pick up a new hobby, or are dedicated to making eco-friendly clothing a part of your wardrobe, then consider making the purchase. You will be able to mend old clothes in a jiffy, transform old clothes into wearable, fashionable outfits, and have fun getting creative with your projects. Best of all, you will be helping to minimize the demand for new clothing, which contributes to the exploitation of labor as well as the environment.

Sewing fanatics can make the old new with a few sewing tools. While it is possible to do your mending with just a needle and threat, it can be even more time consuming, and more technically challenging, than using a sewing machine. A machine can sew quickly and accurately, and all you have to do is know how to operate the machine on a very basic level. First, pick out the right color of threat, make sure it is long enough, then thread the needle, turn on the machine, place the area of the clothing item underneath the foot of the needle apparatus, and then begin sewing.

Besides mending and alterations, you can cut fabrics to add on or subtract from a favorite piece of clothing. You can think as big or as little as you want – perhaps just a fun fabric pattern around your headband would make you more willing to wear it. You might be surprised by how a small sewing job can transform your clothes from mediocre into hip and cute.

Lastly, once you have got the hang of your sewing machine, you can use it to make just about any article of clothing. Think beyond the typical sweater vest or pajama shorts, and try something totally unique, like a Japanese-inspired kimono as your new bathrobe or a matching handbag and coin purse.

Ever rummaged through your grandmother’s jewelry box and wondered if there would come a day when those bulky necklaces would come back into style? Or have you ever come across a piece of heirloom jewelry that you cannot bring yourself to wear, but also could never bear to give it away? For those fashionistas who love to make the old new and restore old clothes or jewelry, do not be afraid to use those hand me down necklaces, anklets, brooches, and jangling earrings in your next do it yourself arts and crafts project. Your grandmother would more likely be happy to know that you have found a way to incorporate her jewelry into your wardrobe than find out it has just been collecting dust. Plus, you will be getting creative with your jewelry stash and being just as eco-conscious about your accessories than you are about the rest of your eco-friendly lifestyle.

What to do With Brooches
These outdated accessories can be tricky to salvage, but if you have one with potential, consider making it into a necklace. Use a necklace chain from another old necklace, or pick one up from the jewelry store or crafts store. If you have two brooches that are similar, consider making them into earrings, or use hot glue and magnets to turn them into refrigerator magnets.

What to do With Anklets and Armbands
If anklets and armbands are not your thing, try resizing them into bracelets. Resizing metal jewelry involves precision cutting and heating, so take your jewelry to a professional who can do it for you.

What to do With Handkerchiefs
Heaven knows your grandmother probably has a horde of handkerchiefs that she probably has not used in decades, if at all. Turn them into headbands or scarves and you are in luck.

If you are conscientious about the environment and want to make sure that you incorporate eco-friendly clothing into your wardrobe, one of the best places to start shopping is at your local thrift store. Thrift stores typically hold hundreds or thousands of used clothing items, many of which can be made into fun and fashionable outfits. Sometimes you will find clothing items that you could never have found anywhere else.

However, it can also be a challenge, and very time-consuming, to sift through the rows of used clothing in search of something that will work for you. Consignment clothing stores, vintage clothing stores, or buy and sell clothing exchanges might be a better fit for you. These stores offer recycled clothing based on individual donations or in bulk from sale items at other stores, but they are more careful to weed out the clothing that is of low-quality, damaged, or would most likely be considered unfashionable to their customers. Prices are generally a bit higher than at thrift stores, but the quality of clothing is better and you are more likely to find something that fits your style.

If you are searching for a specific type of clothing, such as baby clothing, there might be a consignment store or an exchange between mothers at a mom’s group. Ask friends or do a quick online search to see if there are any eco-friendly recycled clothing stores located near you. During an online search, try different keywords such as “recycled clothing” or “consignment stores” plus the name of your city.

Buying eco-friendly clothing is an important step in the trek towards sustainable living. Resold clothing helps minimize the demand, and therefore the supply, for new clothing manufacturing. No matter where you buy your clothes, make sure that you are making smart choices about your fashion. Research the clothing manufacturer to see what their labor policies are.

Anyone who has a fashion brand wants it to do well, but he or she also knows that fashion can be very fickle. Your clothing can be in one day and out the next, so you’ll need to keep making changes if you want to stay on top of your game and ahead of the competition. It’s important to get feedback from your customers in order to have a good idea of how you’re really doing, so don’t be shy about asking your customers what they really think of your clothes. You need to know if they like them, and if there are any issues with them.

You should also find out whether they would be willing to share your information with others as a good company to buy from, if they like the customer service that they get from your company, and if they are going to continue to buy clothes from you. If they aren’t, finding out why may help you change their mind. Even if you can’t convince that customer to keep buying from you, you may be able to make some changes that will keep other customers from leaving, assuming there really is a problem that you need to deal with.

By creating and utilizing a customer satisfaction survey, you can easily see what problems your company has in the eyes of your customers, and whether your fashion brand is successful overall. If there are big issues, it’s a good idea to do something about them. One of the biggest areas of fashion today is clothing and materials that are eco-friendly, so you might want to use part of your survey to see how your fashion-conscious customers feel about that. It may be an area that your business really needs to explore, and that’s something that a survey can easily tell you.

With the concept of going eco-friendly as a growing trend in society, people are constantly looking for ways to make changes in their lives to accommodate prevalent trend. Whether they incorporate CFL bulbs into the homes as replacements for generic energy absorbing light bulbs, or install gray water systems that assist in using the water from sinks to water the plants outside; there are plenty of different avenues to take in this pursuit. Among some of the most popular is buying eco-friendly clothing. Eco-friendly clothing does not simply pertain to the material in which the clothing is manufactured out of, but it also pertains to the types of facilities that the clothing is made. Clearly, a bamboo fiber shirt made in a facility that pours massive amounts of carbon emissions into the atmosphere and utilizes child labor for cheap production is not a viable source to get your clothing from.

There are a few ways to determine as to whether or not your clothing is truly eco-friendly. The first and most obvious thing you will want to do is be familiar with the various eco-friendly materials commonly used in the clothing industry. When you become more familiar with the materials, check to ensure the clothing you are in route to purchase is made from one or a mixture of these types of materials.

Secondly, and most importantly, do some research on the retailer as well as their suppliers. Retailers always paint a pretty picture for consumers as part of their marketing approach., so unfortunately, you cannot believe everything you read regarding a specific article of clothing. Ensure the company has a good reputation by doing various searches regarding aspects of the company;check into their suppliers via a web site to get an idea of how their operation is run. Doing these relatively simple acts will ensure that you are truly supporting a green idea, as well as the green businesses partaking in the idea.

If you have the amazing ability to make handcrafted clothing items and accessories, then why not make your hobby profitable while doing your part for the environment as well. Selling your handmade goods on Etsy is your ticket to the green fashion world. Here are a few tips to get yourself started.

Make a Name for Yourself

This is the first, and biggest, step in your journey to green fashion. One of the main things you need to think of is what types of items you want to sell. After you decide that, you need to make a brand name for your company. Since you’re trying to do your part for the environment, make sure you choose a name that reflects your company’s views. “Green,” “Eco Friendly,” and “Organic” are great words to use.

Get Started

The next thing you need to do is produce your inventory. This way, when the orders come in, you can ship right away. Since this step will require funds to buy all the needed materials, you may have to get creative. A couple ways you can do this are saving up, borrowing from friends or family, or taking out a loan from a company like Payday One. Whichever road you decide to take is up to you.

Get Your Name Out

The next item on your to-do list is to get your name noticed. Send mass e-mails to friends and family and ask them to pass it on, sell at local events or stores, or even start up a page on Facebook. Whatever you decide to do, just make sure to go for it 100% and keep it eco friendly (so avoid printing mass amounts of flyers).

Start Posting

The last step is to just start posting your products to Etsy. You’ll never know how much people will like your green fashion items unless you give it a whirl!

There may not be any simpler, cheaper way to give back to the environment than by recycling. The concept of recycling is pretty straightforward: Instead of putting a crumpled up piece of paper in the garbage can where it will be sent to a landfill, put it in a bin with other crumpled up pieces of paper where it will be reused again and again. Who would have thought that the piece of junk mail you put in your recycling bin could actually become a contract, a math test, or even a check written out to your name?

Becoming hip with the recycling trend is not only super easy, but it helps you feel good about yourself every time you do it. All it takes is a recycling bin, which can be defined as anything you put recyclable material in, and the patience of not immediately throwing away recyclable material. It is amazing how many items can be recycled and reused. Milk cartons, soup cans, soda cans, and even bottle caps can all be recycled and reused for a completely different function. Just look for an indicator, which may be a “U” or a label that simply says “Recyclable.” Even if you are not sure, you can put it in the recycling bin and if it is not recyclable, if will be transferred to standard trash. Many sports arenas and large facilities now have bins next to the trash cans that are labeled “Bottles,” “Aluminum,” and “Plastic.” Pay attention to these and if you have an empty plastic bottle, recycle it!

Many people believe the notion that the Earth is full of endless resources. While that has neither been proven nor unproven, it is not a risk we should be willing to take. By recycling instead of throwing away, we are making the possibility of endless resources more and more feasible.

There are undoubtedly many people in various communities who are very environmentally-conscious. They make efforts to recycle, to ride or bike or walk, to wear environmentally-friendly clothing, and to conserve energy whenever possible. Their efforts should definitely be appreciated, but they should also be the people who promote what they are doing and try to get others involved.

A lot of individuals who give back to the environment are very outgoing people with a good network of people around them. But a lot of their friends and family may not be into the whole “going green” thing as much as them. Whether it be bringing a friend to volunteer with them or promoting an eco-friendly water bottle; there are many ways to show people it can be a lot of fun to “go green.”

But you do not have to just force people to go to events or to buy things to make them feel eco-friendly. Although advertising is an effective medium, one of the most powerful ways of communicating is through word of mouth. Show your friends how much fun you are having and how good you feel about yourself. Tell them about how your power bill is fifty bucks cheaper because you keep the television off and turn out your lights when you leave a room. Write a blog and post a link on Facebook for all of your friends to see. Word of mouth is a powerful way to get support behind a product or an idea. There is no reason why it cannot be just as effective when trying to promote “going green.”

People will of course be skeptical and think certain “going green” concepts are dumb and lame. But once people start getting involved and hearing all the buzz from those who have been eco-friendly for a while, they’ll realize: “Hey dude, this is a pretty cool thing.”

A lot of people believe that being eco-friendly means taking a lot of grueling steps to make the environment better. However, small steps taken day by day can have the exact same effect. A simple way to make the transition to being more eco-friendly is to start in your own household.

One concept most of us were taught growing up, was if we are not using something, turn it off or put it away. This is not only one of the concepts behind being eco-friendly, but it is also a money-saver. This is especially true when it comes to the power bill. By simply unplugging your laptop if you are not using it, or if it is already fully charged, you are saving electricity. By turning out the lights when you leave a room, or when you leave the house, you could be saving dollars every day. There are so many little things you can do that will not only cut down the bills, but help keep the household eco-friendly.

There is no reason to keep the outside lights on when the sun is shining bright, yet people either forget or don’t want to make the effort to turn them off. The same seems to be true with televisions; as people would rather leave them on than turn them off when they leave the room. Leaving items on just wastes electricity and translates over to electric and power bills.

The easiest way to transition into making this a habit is to turn everything off before you leave the room or the house. Have someone remind you or just simply scream in your head, “Light is on! I must turn off before I can exit.” Make a quick sweep of the house before you go to work. This will not only cut down your bills, but give you a little exercise to get your blood rolling before a long grueling day.

It is truly a wonderful sight to see celebrities and musicians use their status and fame to bring good into our culture. George Clooney is trying to raise awareness about genocide and Ellen DeGeneres is speaking on behalf of gay rights. Way too many stars are all about getting on the cover of “People” and having their newest Twitter tweet become headline news. “Bad publicity is good publicity,” is an unfortunate but true standard for most high profile celebrities. But there is one musician out there in particular, who is using his high-profile status to make the world a more eco-friendly place.

Jason Mraz is a groovy reggae/alternative rock music sensation. Girls can be seen swooning over his arguably most popular song, “I’m Yours.” But those that follow his Twitter account, and especially those who see him in concert, understand how much the environment means to him. His audience ranges from those in their tweens to those in their fifties or maybe sixties. And what he says resonates with his fans because of his caring attitude and the passion he puts behind not only every song, but behind every message.

During his tour in 2010, Jason Mraz could always been seen on stage with a reusable water bottle. He constantly referred to it during his shows and made it known that he did not plan on purchasing plastic water bottles any time soon. But the most amazing thing he did was regarding the backdrop on the stage. He had lights that would spell out various themes during different song, and the light bulbs were placed in sixteen hundred plastic water bottles. It was a simple, yet powerful statement.

Jason Mraz demonstrated how to use his status to make a difference. It is those types of messages that will captivate an audience, and will motivate them to take little steps in making the environment a better, more eco-friendly place.

If you need new clothes, it’s important to think about where they’re coming from and what’s happening in the lives of the people who make them. You don’t want to encourage sweatshop labor or those kinds of things, and you also want to think about what your clothes-buying habits are doing to the environment. Find out where the clothes you’re buying are made and what they’re made from. If they aren’t made from fibers that are environmentally friendly, you might want to consider switching brands and purchasing clothing that is easier on the planet.

Finding out the impact of your clothing choices can be just a click away, too. You can research your Apple Bottoms and determine where they come from. Sure, they’re great for women with curves, but you can look further to find out if they’re environmentally friendly. That way, you can see what kind of impact you’re making on the planet. Over time, people are becoming more interested in that, and they’re getting more informed about who’s making their products and where those products are coming from.

The future of the clothing industry will be impacted by that, too, because people aren’t going to keep buying clothes that are hurting the environment. Some people will, but not all of them will continue to do so. For the people who don’t want clothing that’s harmful to the planet, clothing companies that don’t want to lose business will have to make a lot of changes. They’ll be willing to do it if they want to keep their market share. They can actually make more money in the long run if they cater to their customers early and often, and show that what their customers want matters to them. That might be stressful for the company at first, because it will be used to doing things a certain way, but making changes can really help to improve business for the future.

For most of us, times are now tighter than they have ever been. Saving a buck here and there is almost a necessity. Yet, when people believe they are doing a great job saving money, they are sometimes wasting it just as much as before.

A lot of people will order take-out after a long day of work, or stop by a fast food restaurant for dinner after a long day of classes. This is perfectly fine to do every once in a while, but over time it adds up even when you don’t realize it. Eating out can cost anywhere from five to twenty dollars every time. Not only are you wasting money each time, but each time you bring back food to your home, your trash bin gets closer and closer to the brim with empty boxes, silverware, and uneaten food. A quick resolve for this is a word some people are not familiar with… Cooking!

The first thing people say about cooking is they do not have time or they are too tired when they come home. That is a weak argument which can easily be dispelled. For those who have at least one day off during the week and about forty five minutes free during that day, you can prepare your meals for that week. If you are on a budget, you can easily find food that is cheap to cook and will last you more than one meal. You can cook it all in one setting and just put it in the fridge and heat it up the next few days. Clean up only requires putting dishes in the dishwasher and the trash can does not pile up twenty feet high in the air.

Cooking is a great way to save money, to eat healthier, and to reduce the amount of trash generated. Learn how to cook; it is a tasty way to go green!

With the invention of electric cars, people are starting to at least become aware that exhaust from automobiles is not the healthiest thing for the ozone layer. Exhaust from Hummers and big SUVs do indeed pollute the air, but it is not realistic, nor fair to expect everybody to get rid of their luxury vehicles to downgrade to a more environmentally-friendly car. However, there is an easy solution to help the environment that does not involve getting rid of or trading in your vehicle.

Walking is, for most of us, one of the very first activities we learn how to do. It takes time and a lot of patience, but before we know it we are hopping around the entire house on our own two feet. Yet, once we get a little older, and especially around legal driving age, walking seems to become more and more of a less appealing option. But the benefits of this elementary task are tenfold.

Busy schedules do sometime force us to get places quickly, thus making driving almost a necessity. But when we have free time, and have a place to go that is not too far and in a relatively safe area, walking there can bring many good things to the table. First and foremost you are getting exercise, which is something a high percentage of people are not getting. Secondly, you are not wasting gas and not releasing toxins into the ozone. Thirdly, if you walk somewhere with a friend, you can concentrate on having a real conversation than having to split your attention between what they are talking about and the traffic whizzing by.

Nice weather is almost a begging invitation to get out there and walk. It is almost as if the environment is offering a trade off. They give you sunshine, and in return you keep your car in the garage and use your own two feet.

It is unfortunate to see many people live their lives as if someone is always going to clean up after them. People assume that if they leave a box of cereal open on the counter, that someone else will undoubtedly close it and put it away. But what is much worse is how people apply that style of living to God’s Green Earth; especially on Football Saturdays.

Living in Athens, GA, Saturdays in the Fall means one thing and one thing only: Football. A seven o’clock kickoff can easily mean tailgating starting at seven o’clock… in the morning that is. It can also unfortunately mean turning the beautiful campus of the University of Georgia into something barely short of a detonated mine field.

People tailgate for hours drinking beers, grilling out, throwing footballs, and watching the day’s football games on portable televisions. It is a tradition like no other. But once it gets close to game time, people get in a rush to go to the stadium and leave whatever is not essential behind, which is more than likely garbage. The University of Georgia crew had to spend around forty thousand dollars to clean up after one football Saturday. It was nice to see people start to put a majority of their trash in trash bags, but these consistent high costs don’t come without consequences. They come with increased fees and tuition hikes and put the students, who are not always the ones causing the damage, in precarious situations.

We are indeed a fast-moving society, but we need to not overlook what we are leaving behind when we move at a frenetic pace. We cannot always rely on others to clean up our mess; we must do whatever is needed to put the time and effort into manning up and taking care of our responsibilities.

If you like keeping up with fashion trends, but are also concerned about the environment; you can have the best of both worlds by shopping at eco-friendly clothing stores in Canada. Even better news is that the resources on Canada 411 can help you a store near you.

Eco-friendly clothing has many advantages, especially when it comes to protecting the environment. For example, eco-friendly clothing is almost always made from natural fibers. This allows clothing manufacturers to use materials of which the production did not add to pollution or did not require the mixing of artificial materials or even chemicals to produce the material.

Eco-friendly clothing is generally easy to clean. The wearer doesn’t have to worry about using a lot of detergent, bleach, or anything else containing harsh chemicals that can harm the environment as well as break down fabric, thus necessitating the constant replacing of clothing.

Again, wearing eco-friendly clothing does not mean one has to dress as though he or she is stranded on a desert island. Many clothing stores specialize in eco-friendly clothing, while others may carry select items along with their regular clothing line. The resources that you will find on Canada 411 will give you the names and locations of these stores, so that you find one close to you.

If the store has a website, you may even be able to view some of the eco-friendly selections they have as well as see the prices. In this way, you will be able to comparison-shop for the best values, as well as the best selection.

When you use Canada 411, you are also helping the environment in another way besides. When you know exactly where you are going, you don’t waste gas (or petrol, as it is sometimes referred to.) In fact, you may be able to find a store that is within walking distance, which saves gas/petrol as well as providing you with exercise.

Giving back to the community can help make life easier for other people and help reduce wasteful spending and production. One way of doing this may be surprising to some, but it revolves around clothing.

A lot of people will look in their closet in the morning and almost subconsciously narrow down the options of what they are going to wear to two or three choices. Additionally, even more people will look into their closet and see a plethora of items that they immediately know they will never wear. This may be because they’ve outgrown it, because they hate the way it looks, or because it is a pair of shorts and they live in Minnesota. And too many of us will just ignore those items and let them keep taking up space that could be used for storage for our messy rooms.

One of the most helpful things to do with these outcast pieces of clothing is give them to Goodwill. By giving away clothing that you will never wear, you are helping keep someone warm who would have to spend their last dollar to do so otherwise. They can now use that dollar to provide dinner for their family; the same dollar that could not be spent if you decided to keep the ugly sweater you got for Christmas back in sixth grade.

It was really nice watching a documentary where they showed how championship t-shirts made in advance for losing teams were shipped to poverty-ravaged areas. Most of the companies who produce these shirts make substantial profits, and it is a good, heartfelt deed to take a small loss and give back to others.

By theoretically recycling clothing, you are reducing the need to waste precious materials and resources to produce them. In poverty-ravaged countries, donated clothing can help them allocate their other resources for a multitude of more dire situations.

“Killing two birds with one stone.” This is not an expression to be taken literally, but to be viewed as a way to accomplish multiple tasks at the same time. When it comes to helping the environment, there is a way to apply this expression, and it is especially true if you are also looking to get into the job market.

The environment appreciates it when people give back and keep it preserved. Employers appreciate it when they come across an interviewee who is selfless and who likes to give back to the community. There is undoubtedly a correlation here, and with so many people having similar work/educational backgrounds, volunteering can be the deciding factor to help nab that dream job.

Getting involved with volunteering is ridiculously easy. Unlike hiring organizations, volunteer organizations and non-profits are always willing to “hire” people eager to give back. By simply searching online or looking in the newspaper, there are always events going on around every area.

Telling an employer you spent three hours last Saturday picking up trash on the side of a major road, while your friends were still sleeping off their hangovers, is never a bad direction to take the conversation.

One of the main principles behind volunteering is helping out without receiving any monetary benefits. This principle can easily be viewed as a quality that will transfer to the work place. If you show you can give back to the community, regardless of how big or small the contribution, an employer may you as someone who will truly want to make a contribution in his or her organization. What could be more appealing than someone who goes the extra mile because they want to, not because they have to?

So get out there and volunteer! It can be a quick resume builder, a confidence builder, and a way to make you stand out in the crowd.

Going green is not just about recycling and conserving energy. Although those are two main focuses of going green, there is a greater idea behind the concept. Our society is heavily shifting towards “instantaneous results” and “I want my phone to do anything in the world.” But going green means trying to bring the “activity” back into life. And that can be done by enjoying something most people have forgotten about since the invention of smart phones and high-def television: non-electric hobbies.

A lot of people do not appreciate the little things in life as much as they did growing up and “going green” tries to change that. To appreciate the little things, go camping and make sure you are not within access of a cell phone or wireless connection. Or force yourself to go an hour or two every day without using your cell phone, computer, or television. You will very shortly realize what some of your favorite hobbies are. The distractions are too easy when we have them at our disposal.

Books seem ancient to most people. But it can be a core focus of “going green.” By turning of the television and reading any type of book for thirty minutes to an hour every day can dramatically improve your lifestyle. You are not only saving electricity costs, but you are getting an education and possibly even getting into a really good story. This can even motivate you to spend time with other people and do activities like building a puzzle or having a catch; instead of watching the same rerun on television over and over again or surfing the Internet on your smart phone for hours on end.

Once you have to put a little effort in having a good time, you may start to appreciate the little things more and more each day.

Bamboo has long been the material of choice for people looking to go eco-friendly. Over the past decade, bamboo has exploded in popularity as a material used for a wide array of different products. From simplistic bamboo bathroom accessories all the way to an entire set of bamboo cabinetry; it is more common to find this material in modern households in one way or another than it is not to.

Bamboo is fastest growing plant known in existence; it can grow up to 60 inches over a 24 hour period once it has become matured. As a result of this extraordinary ability to grow, bamboo is the perfect candidate as a vastly renewable resource. As the popularity of bamboo began to become prevalent in household accessories as the main structural aspect of the products, mainly the wood used to construct them; manufacturers began to look at bigger and better ways to utilize this miraculous resource.

Upon doing a little research, it was found that bamboo could be utilized as a fiber for clothing and other apparel by extracting the natural pulp from the bamboo grass through a textile process. This process was implemented by Chinese corporations throughout the 20th century and is now regularly used to produce eco-friendly towels, rags, clothing, bedding and many more products in the United States.

As the eco-friendly movement becomes more evident among the mainstream populace of the world, there will continue to be more new and exciting discoveries regarding the use of bamboo in the manufacturing process. While there are more and more eco-friendly materials coming into the limelight, bamboo is still top tog. As this extremely renewable resource can be cultivated in a controlled environment ensuring that the natural habitats of animals are not disrupted during the extraction process; the importance in the use of bamboo has never been more widely known.

It was a quick decision, made after witnessing the unsteady stacks of trash beyond your driveway, the recycling bins that sat lonely beside. They were all empty, without even a slip of paper to wait within. And that… was not good, you knew. It was instead merely lazy. You were guilty of apathy, of refusing to separate your paper and plastic. Each was just tossed idly into a bag, placed on the curb for others to deal with. And, while you watched as it was hauled away, you realized just how much waste you managed to accumulate.

Something had to change.

And so you decided then to make a stand against such practices — you would become a supporter of all green causes; you would eliminate emissions. All of your friends would look to you as a beacon of righteous choices.

That intention has proven to be difficult, however. You’re still dependent on your old ways, still trying to decipher how to lessen their effects. It isn’t easy. But you have discovered a method that offers quick results and far less strain (essential for your less than steady discipline): eco-friendly clothing.

You would’ve once thought this to be impossible — your love of shopping could never be considered a way to help the planet. But, by choosing sustainable resources and recycled accessories, you understand that you’re reducing the worries of chemicals and dyes, hazardous materials. Each outfit becomes a tribute to fashion and wisdom; and the combination is one that makes a difference.

Environmental clothing offers natural alternatives to the typical designs. Brands aren’t soaked in synthetic fibers, packaged in Styrofoam. They’re instead created from renewable elements and will offer longevity. They reduce the impact of carbon throughout the world while still allowing individuals to maintain their style sensibilities.

It’s a gesture you can give again and again.

You aren’t yet the paragon of green living. You can, however, be the example of green fashion.

It’s a promise of protection, a label offering all of the wanted words — you examine fabric, marveling at what it is meant to offer. A shop swears it is environmentally conscious, made to adhere to the sudden call for good sense and better fibers. Clothes are no longer merely to be worn; they are instead to ensure the safety of the future. And the garment you’re now holding is supposed to follow this rule, deems itself eco-friendly.

You are, of course, thrilled and purchase the product immediately. It fits so well that you even decide later to research a company, to discover their other styles.

What you see online shocks you.

Because the supposed social awareness of their fabrics are marred by accusations of child labor, heavy carbon emissions and synthetic dyes. You have not found an environmental prize. You have instead been deceived.

The desire to aid nature has become a global movement. Individuals across the world are seeking to change the way we all use materials. But this good intention has been ruined by trickery — many manufacturers are trying to meet the demand for sustainable products by slapping on an organic name and continuing with their past practices. Consumers can be led to believe they’re making a wise decision when they are instead perpetuating a vicious cycle.

It is essential therefore that all individuals recognize the importance of research. Try to glean as much as you can about companies and their products. Discover what steps are being taken to become more environmentally safe and avoid groups that are too vague with their descriptions. Look at all materials that are used (ensuring that they aren’t tested on animals or formed of synthetic threads). And be certain all fabrics are indeed sustainable.

It is an unfortunate truth that you can’t simply trust a company’s vow of eco-protection. You must instead seek the facts.

Don’t allow yourself to be deceived. Learn all you can.

It is the sudden cause, a desire shared across the world — the environment is now to be protected. While there was once a casual disregard for the future (with no concern offered for the bursts of smoke, the towers of slick plastic), there is now an understanding that Earth is to be spared the effects of poor choices. All impulses are to be controlled. All practices are to be tamed. The intention is to save the planet and great efforts have been offered toward this goal; even in unlikely ways.

The concept of helping the environment through clothing is one many don’t believe in. They think it is an impossibility, the fashion industry trying to take advantage of the sudden public awareness. But such cynicism — while understandable — is not needed. There are indeed ways for fabric to assist with this campaign; and they have proven themselves to be invaluable.

Eco-friendly clothing is defined most simply as a choice of materials and productions that does not harm the environment. Specific cloths are used (organic fibers like cotton and linen, which are sustainable and can be used again and again); recycled elements are chosen (such as zippers and buttons); natural dyes are selected instead of synthetic ones; and manufacturers refuse to use more energy than is absolutely necessary, reducing their carbon imprints.

These methods — when combined — yield an unexpected reward: the world is not forced to endure wasted fabrics and leaking dyes. And this helps to ensure a better tomorrow.

Environmentally conscious clothing is a new trend but one that shouldn’t be discounted. It offers obvious advantages (while still maintaining the looks all individuals crave. Social awareness does not translate into unflattering designs. Beauty is still considered). Find brands that suit your life; find fibers that appeal; and discover the difference that can be made through cloth.

It’s protection for the planet. It’s style for you. It’s the right choice for all.

With everyone being so much more socially aware today and trying to be more eco-friendly, it is not surprising that the diamond industry also has very strict standards in place to ensure that the precious gems come from safe sources.

The film “Blood Diamond” went a long way in making people realize that even the rock on their finger plays a role in our social responsibility towards our environment and the people who inhabit the earth. While wearing fox and mink furs is still frowned upon, there is a growing awareness of other fashion items that may have been gained through cruel and illegal means. It for this reason that the diamond industry has strict standards put in place by the international Diamond Council who closely monitors the mining and distribution of diamonds.

When you purchase a diamond you need to ensure that you acquire it though a trusted source. Tacori engagement rings for example, are made from the finest diamonds, not only carefully selected for their clarity and brilliance, but they are also very vigilant about adhering to the Diamond Standard set by the Diamond Council. Each Tacori diamond is certified by the Kimberley Process to be conflict free, which means it was not acquired from the third world through conflict and cruelty to the people who live in those countries. Each diamond is certified by the Diamond Council and thus ensues that the highest ethical standard is maintained.

Diamonds will always be a “girl’s best friend”, and we can make sure that that they were legally and ethically gained. A further step in being eco friendly would be to purchase the highest quality we can afford and pass them on for generations to re-use and enjoy. If you need an engagement ring but don’t like the setting of your grand mother’s ring, consider having the stone reset into a new band. That way the stone is re-cycled and re-used which is the most eco- friendly option there is.

It’s happened yet again — you were too bold with your menu selection, too enthusiastic with your fork; and your blouse is now covered in a generous splattering of sauce and noodles. A favored meal is suddenly an accessory and you wince, knowing what must come next: the dreaded dry cleaning. A fabric is too delicate to trust to your washing machine (you’ve learned this in all the terrible ways, have been greeted by ruined threads and faded colors). It seems too great of a hassle to trudge to the cleaners, to maneuver through the lines and explanations; but you know it to be necessary.

What you didn’t know, however, is that it will also leave a trace of carbon for the the future.

Clothing that must be dry cleaned is far more than a mere aggravation. It’s instead unsafe for the environment. The chemicals involved with the process (specifically the carcinogenic Perchlorethylene) are hazardous to both air and earth, damaging whatever they may come in contact with. When they are improperly disposed of, they can generate devastating consequences — all of which you add to whenever you bring in your clothing.

It’s essential therefore that individuals refuse to purchase fabrics that can only be dry cleaned. All outfits are instead to be eco-friendly and should be able to be washed in machines or by hand. This can drastically eliminate the amounts of chemicals that leak into the ground and reduce the carbon footprints they will eventually form. By simply choosing natural fibers (such as cotton or hemp), you can avoid harming the environment.

It’s often assumed that this is impossible. Too many clothes rely on dry cleaning, after all; and these are typically the elegant choices, the work appropriate styles. These can still be found in more efficient selections, though. You must simply search for what is available and see what will be suited to your life.

The choice can (and should) be made.

It is an unfortunate truth, one you have been trying to deny for weeks — your beloved shoes are falling apart. The laces are withered; the soles are distressed; and the lining is destroyed, mottled now and offering no support. It was bound to happen (though the inevitability of it makes it no less tragic). You’ve had this pair for years, have walked countless miles within them. They have been the rare comfort, allowing you to do what you wished and travel where you pleased. They were easy. They were familiar. And now they must be replaced with something new.

That, of course, worries you. It seems such a difficult thing to find shoes that fit, flatter and offer durability.

There is more to consider than those elements, however — there is instead to need to be environmentally conscious.

The times are being redefined. The once accepted practices of synthetic materials and soil damaging dyes are being replaced to safer, better, methods. The industrial world has realized the flaws in its plans and is seeking to reinvent them. Shoes are no exception to this. They have instead been shaped into eco-friendly styles; and you should now look to them for your walking needs.

Don’t believe these products to be the ugly soles, however — the heavy weights and too wide shapes. The clumsy designs of the past are no more. They’ve instead been offered a modern appeal. Environmental shoes are made from natural materials (such as bamboo or hemp). They utilize unique accessories, such as laces made from yarn and recycled fasteners. And they even come from factories that seek to lower carbon emissions. The entire process is streamlined and made more efficient.

And this is vital in reducing waste and chemical damage.

You have had many adventures with your old shoes. Now, however, you must seek new thrills with ones that won’t wreak havoc on nature. It is — fortunately — simple.

It’s an unflattering assumption, an assurance misled by cliches: you see the promises of organic clothing, the environmentally safe styles; and you think them all to be without shape or design. To be so helpful to the world means they must also be plain — this is the logic that guides you. No fabric could be both pleasing and protective. It is a statistical impossibility, you’re certain. All threads must instead be clumsily sewn, providing none of the textures you crave, the colors that are so vital. The patterns must instead be dull things, unwanted by any fan of fashion.

But then you enter a store and your entire opinion is quickly changed.

Eco-friendly clothing is not — despite the common belief — an offense against style. It will not force you to wear awkwardly fitting shirts and comically patched pants. To be organic is not to be bland. It is instead to merely be aware of the environment, offering a small assistance to it. There is no difference in cuts or silhouettes. There is no refusal of design. It’s merely contained within alternative fabrics.

The materials used to craft these clothes are sustainable (or at least renewable). Cotton, hemp, bamboo and similar items are used. These do not defy all sensibilities, however. They will not make you suffer the burden of being poorly dressed. Instead they will merely offer the looks you want without the typical trail of carbon footprints.

And this is a compromise worth making.

Too often do individuals think that these fashions will be inadequate. They are certain there can be nothing to gain beyond the knowledge of doing the right thing (which is always welcomed, but never at the cost of tragic threads). Environmental clothing is instead a far easier idea, however. There is no sacrifice needed. All styles can instead be created.

They will simply offer a better alternative for you and the future.

You have come to a decision — your wardrobe is no longer adequate. The styles you once favored do not impress. The brands you once loved are dull. You despise every outfit you’re forced to wear, think them all too tedious to even consider. You need a change. New clothes must be sought, replacing these ragged threads. And it would be so easy to simply throw all fabrics out, to then search through the little shops and boutiques.

You hesitate with this, however — if only because you’ve recently become aware of the environment and tossing all of your clothes away seems suddenly irresponsible. You think of dyes seeping into the ground, buttons being snatched up by unsuspecting animals. You imagine piles of trash being shoved into yet another landfill, forced higher because of your singular efforts.

That… is not good.

And suddenly the notion of losing your wardrobe seems impossible.

It doesn’t have to be.

You can have new outfits, new styles, without simply flinging everything away: have a swapping party.

Individuals wishing to spare themselves the guilt of impulse buys and non-sustainable fibers can choose a happier alternative. Through swapping parties, friends can gather and trade their clothes. Shirts, skirts and pants can all be passed between the group. That blouse you admired? Those jeans you could never find? They can now be yours. Switch your fabrics with your friends’ and discover an entirely new wardrobe.

The purpose is not to deny you the chance to purchase outfits. It is instead to inspire better planning. These parties enable you to avoid simply throwing your clothes away and allow you also to learn what you prefer to wear (which will enable you to make smart choices, rather than buying pieces you won’t use and disregarding them later). It’s a quick way to ease the environmental strain — and will also offer you a thrill.

Give your clothes new uses. Spare the landfills more trash.

You love jewelry and you love to wear diamonds, but have you ever thought what costs these diamonds pay to reach you? Do they reach market fairly making them worth wearing in your beautiful necks and delicate fingers? Well the answers are not always that simple. Gold mining is rated as the world’s most dirty business. These diamonds are responsible for many innocent lives and some time named as Blood Diamonds.

But you do not have to stay away from jewelry and elegant rings. There exist many diamond companies who are famous for their eco-friendly jewel pieces. You can still buy these beautiful diamonds without worrying of their legality. Do not forget to check vintage collection. If you are looking for male jewelry, you must look ApollorRings eco-friendly collections. Apollo Diamond Company claims to produce diamonds with a single seed of pure diamond using controlled amount of carbon gas.

CRED jewelry is famous for producing jewelry which combines classic and modern styles with ethically-sourced diamonds. If you love to wear gold, here is a perfect option for you: GreenKarat believes in power of consumer to choose intelligently. They believe in recycling metals to build environment friendly mining. Similarly with Tacori jewelry, there exist many eco-friendly diamonds which you may choose for your engagement. So if you are looking for a safe wedding ring you must go and check these Tacori rings.

Diamond rings are considered the symbol of love and romance. No wedding and engagement ceremony is complete without jewelry but if you are socially aware, things are way different. Gold and diamond mining is killing our environment badly; the process is poisoning. If you are wearing such jewelry, you are also responsible for killing your planet. No woman can live without this jewelry, so you have a better alternative in the form of eco-friendly and socially aware diamonds.

There has always been one goal within your life, one wish you have forever been determined to make a reality: you want to leave no trace of yourself on the environment. The world is sagging beneath the weight of smoke and carbon, the tendrils that seem to trail behind every individual. You seek instead to eliminate that burden. You want to counter all emissions, to remove all waste. And you think you succeed with your intentions — until you realize how much packaging all of your eco-friendly products seem to generate.

You are forever buying organic brands, designer precautions. You try always to support those who are offering alternatives. But these must be shipped from distant cities; and they arrive often in cardboard and Styrofoam, the heavy plastics. Your desire to reduce trash is therefore quickly undone.

It doesn’t have to be.

While many companies have not yet revised their notions of shipping (relying still on chemical additives and hard outer-layers), others are instead providing ways to change this. They’re offering consumers the revelations of plant formed packaging.

Simply explained: this new method is not composed of the usual plastics. Instead it’s made entirely from natural means — plants. By securing these with non-damaging polymers, the plants can take on a secure form; enabling items to be transported within them without fear of leaks, breaks or other concerns. When disposed of, they can quickly degrade: which ensures that there is no waste left behind and no threat to the environment.

Choosing eco-protective clothing is admirable. Choosing outfits that aren’t coupled with plant packaging, however, is less so. You can have the styles you need; you can make the statements you want. You must simply ensure that each brand is made available to you in a smart (and effective) way.

Don’t dismiss all of your efforts through poor packaging. Look for plants to offer relief — as well as safety.

Fashion is meant to offer more than clever patterns and craved textures, the colors that defy description. It’s instead to be a reflection of the times — and the 21st century has been marked by a sudden social awareness. Individuals across the world are beginning to understand the roles they play, the impact of the choices they make. The environment, it has been discovered, is an extension of all actions; and these must therefore be shaped to wisdom.

Clothing has become a reminder of this, with renewable resources sought (instead of the usual manufactured fibers and chemicals). Style is meant to be both sustainable and easy. Brands have began to search for ways to accomplish that — and hemp has become the simplest of these methods.

A common (but staggeringly durable) plant, hemp is found throughout the world. It offers rare resilience — with its fibers able to be shaped as needed without breaking — and won’t lose its shape or texture over time. Fabrics woven from it have been proven to offer long lasting effects, as well as eliminating the need for difficult cleaning processes. The material will respond to simple water.

But hemp’s advantages extend far beyond any articles of clothing made from it. They instead begin as soon as its roots take hold. Due to the strength of this plant, it can grow almost anywhere — not requiring excess irrigation or sunlight. No pesticides are needed to protect it (as insects do not feed on it) and other fauna won’t pose as threats. Hemp overtakes any area it sprouts in, reducing weeds and toxic blooms.

This allows the eco-friendly process to be an impressive one. The material offers almost no impact on nature. It is instead safe and convenient — essential for the modern needs of protecting the future by reducing carbon in the present.

Hemp allows for style and good sense. This makes it worthy of all individuals and their consideration.
